The Urgent Run Singapore 2016

It was a mad dash to the finishing line as we had almost 800 participants during this year’s Urgent Run! This was our third year running and it was held on the 5th November this year in the lead up towards the World Toilet Day to raise awareness of the global sanitation crisis.

Our Guest-of-Honours Seah Kian Peng, C. Kunalan and Jack Sim

The event was held at the Angsana Green and the run stretched along the coast of the scenic and beautiful East Coast Park. We were pleased to have Seah Kian Peng, CEO of NTUC Fairprice Co-operative Ltd and Member of Parliament for Marine Parade GRC, to grace the event as our guest-of-Honour, together with C. Kunalan, Singapore’s very own sprint legend. Despite the slightly gloomy weather, runners got to enjoy the coolness it brought to the event while completing their 5.28km. For the public who were not keen on running, they got to participate in the spunky and fun-filled zumba session held by Flyte Studio and had a really enjoyable time as well.

Free ice cream treat!

ServisHero brought a great relief to the participants after their run with free ice cream at their sponsored local ice-cream cart, while other hungry participants got to munch on pasta, nachos and croissant from Revada. Our exhibition booth was also up nearby for participants to find out more about WTO’s mission, work and projects. Much laughter could be heard from Singapore Polytechnic exciting games booth, while the Vivid Snaps Photo Booth was also a hit with both adults and children. Stage performances included a music band, magic show and a fancy dress competition and concluded with a lucky draw, where winners got to bring home attractive prizes.
