Tampines Roadshow

WTO’s Volunteer sharing with a passerby

As part of our local celebrations for UN World Toilet Day, we launched our second sanitation roadshow from the 19th Nov to 4th Dec 2016. It is located next to Tampines MRT station beside a carnival and night market that has attracted many heartlanders, many of whom were curious of our giant toilet balloon. They visited our exhibition and interacted with our staff who shared with them Singapore’s sanitation history and development while also informing them on the work we do. This included raising awareness of Singaporeans on the global sanitation issue, helping build toilets in rural schools and teaching students on the importance of good hygiene practices in China, and our social enterprise called Sanishop in Cambodia, Vietnam and Mozambique.

WTO Staff talking about the Toilet Cleanliness Index

The Singapore Management University also partnered with us to showcase their research project called the Toilet Cleanliness Index. This Index displays the overall cleanliness level of hawker centres and coffee shop toilets ranked by towns in Singapore. Both adults and children tried their hand at our toilet games to win some free attractive prizes while some visitors decided to show their support for the work we do through donations and the purchase of our Urgent Run T-shirt and medal.

Our games had attracted many, young and old
