We’re thrilled to be partnering with CDD Society India for the National Summit on Sustainable Water and Sanitation as part of our continuing efforts to improve sanitation in India.
For India’s huge and growing population, the access to safe water and sanitation still proves a major challenge.
This January, The (NSSWS), jointly organized by CDD society and Nispana Innovative Platforms in association with the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Swachh Bharat (Urban & Gramin) , Rajiv Gandhi Rural Housing Corporation Limited (RGRHCL), and Bangalore Water Supply and Sewage Board (BWSSB), will address this ever-important issue. To be held in Bengaluru from 7-8 January 2016, the summit aims to raise awareness and produce solutions on the pressing issue of access to water and sanitation in India.
With issues pertaining to water and sanitation constituting as a national need and are often intertwined with one another, the summit will bring together various governments departments and stakeholders on a single platform including our very own World Toilet Organization.
The summit is focused on creating awareness about the existing water and sanitation issues in India, the government’s future plan for India’s Swachh Bharat campaign, and national reforms on water and sanitation.
Additionally, this summit will also showcase sustainable solutions for the water and sanitation sector through Public-Private Partnership (PPPs) models, by inviting private sectors to participate and introduce regulatory reforms.
The conference will have 2 parallel sessions for Rural and Urban sectors. The summit plans to shine a light on local issues such as policy reforms in water and sanitation and open defecation in India.
